Charoite is a rare stone- mined for only a few months out of the year in the frozen Siberian wilderness, the stone also has strict export laws in effect by the Russian government, so we seldom see nice pieces stateside. It is a lovely stone, lavender-purple with swirls and bits of chatoyancy and milky shimmers in its depths.
A 12 x 9mm half-moon charoite cabochon is bezel set here, open underneath and resting on a unique band. The band is about 10mm wide, wider in some spots and narrower in others, comfort fit and slightly squared to naturally fit the finger. There is a diamond texture in spots near the edge, several bezel set round diamonds, re-purposed from older jewelry, and the ring is signed by the artist.
