Natural Diamond Trade Up Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for Wexford Jewelers’ diamond trade up program, diamonds must meet Wexford Jewelers’ current inventory standards at the time of trade in.

Eligible diamonds generally include:

Approved Shapes

• Round Brilliant

• Oval

• Emerald Cut

• Radiant Cut

• Cushion Cut

• Asscher Cut

Approved Quality Range

• Color: D through H

• Clarity: SI1 through Flawless

Approved Carat Weight Range

• Up to 5.99 carats

Diamonds that fall outside of these normal stocking parameters are generally not eligible for trade in consideration. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Specialty or uncommon diamond shapes

• Fancy colored diamonds, including natural or lab grown diamonds with intentional body color outside the traditional colorless range

• Diamonds below the minimum color or clarity standards listed above

• Diamonds weighing 6.00 carats or greater

• Diamonds with significant damage, alterations, treatments, or missing laboratory documentation, when applicable

• Any diamond that Wexford Jewelers determines falls outside of its current inventory needs or market demand

Origin Requirements:

• Natural diamonds may be traded toward the purchase of another natural diamond.

• Lab-grown diamonds may be traded toward the purchase of another lab-grown diamond.

• Natural diamonds may not be traded toward lab-grown diamonds.

• Lab-grown diamonds may not be traded toward natural diamonds.

Diamonds that are not eligible for trade in may still hold sentimental and aesthetic value. In these instances, Wexford Jewelers may recommend repurposing the diamond into a custom pendant, ring, earrings, or other jewelry design so that it may continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.

All trade in eligibility determinations are made solely at the discretion of Wexford Jewelers. Wexford Jewelers reserves the right to decline any diamond submitted for trade in that does not align with its established guidelines, inventory standards, or prevailing market conditions.Wexford Jewelers is pleased to consider diamonds for trade-in, regardless of where the original purchase was made. At Wexford Jewelers, we offer a trade-up policy for natural diamonds. If you purchased a natural diamond from us, you may be eligible to trade it in for a new diamond. The trade-up value for your natural diamond, depending on condition, will be based on s few factors including what you paid for the diamond less the amount of the mounting or setting as well as current market value for an equivalent gem. This means that you will receive credit for the the determined value of the diamond, less the amount of the mounting or setting when you trade it in for a new diamond of at least twice its value, given that it is in exceptional condition and falls within eligibility parameters.

Our team of diamond experts will carefully examine your diamond and get you the dollar amount you have to play with for a brand new upgrade. We take pride in offering a range of natural diamonds to choose from, and our trade-up policy gives you the flexibility to upgrade to a diamond that better suits your needs.

It's important to note, that this policy is only applicable to the diamond's value, and not the mounting or setting. If you choose to trade in your natural diamond for a new one, you will only receive credit for the diamond's value, which can only be applied to the purchase of a new diamond. However, we offer a range of mountings and settings that can be purchased separately to showcase your new diamond's beauty.

We understand that purchasing a diamond is a meaningful decision, and we want to provide opportunities for you to upgrade your diamond over time. Our Lab Grown Diamond Trade Up Policy allows customers who have purchased a lab grown diamond from Wexford Jewelers to trade in their original diamond toward the purchase of a new lab grown diamond.

Trade Up Requirements

To qualify for our lab grown diamond trade up program:

• The original lab grown diamond must have been purchased from Wexford Jewelers.

• The diamond must be in its original condition and accompanied by any applicable grading reports.

• The new lab grown diamond selected must have a purchase price of at least twice the current assessed value of the original diamond.

• Trade up credit applies only to the center diamond and does not include the value of any mounting or setting.

Current Assessed Value

Our diamond experts will evaluate your original lab grown diamond based on its current market value at the time of trade in. Once assessed, the entire current value of the diamond may be applied toward the purchase of a new qualifying lab grown diamond.

Important Market Disclosure

The lab grown diamond market has experienced significant changes over the past decade. Advancements in technology, increased production capacity, and evolving global supply and demand have contributed to substantial fluctuations in market pricing.

As a result, the current assessed value of a lab grown diamond may differ significantly from its original purchase price. This change in value is reflective of broader market conditions and is not unique to Wexford Jewelers. Wexford Jewelers cannot guarantee future market values or trade in amounts for lab grown diamonds.

By participating in this program, customers acknowledge that trade up values are determined by the diamond’s current market value at the time of assessment and not by its original purchase price.

Origin Requirements

Lab grown diamonds may be traded toward the purchase of another lab grown diamond only.

Natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds are governed by separate trade up policies. Natural diamonds may not be traded toward lab grown diamonds, and lab grown diamonds may not be traded toward natural diamonds.

Additional Information

This trade up policy applies only to center diamonds in rings, pendants, or stud earrings. The value of the original mounting or setting is not included in the trade up credit. Customers wishing to purchase a new mounting or setting may do so separately, and our team will gladly assist in selecting the perfect option to complement their new diamond.
