Lake Superior Storm Leland Blue and Iolite Necklace

Our Lake Superior Storm Necklace was designed around this rare pioneer blue slag stone, part of the treasured Leland blue family. These stones are found near old copper deposits and are known for their stunning natural wave-like patterns that mirror the waters where it was found. 

Handmade in sterling silver, the necklace showcases a 31mm x 29mm roundish stone, accented with a single iolite trillion on the bottom. We kept the front minimalist with simple prongs, but let the back of the pendant have a touch of Sarah's artistry with a swirling pattern to echo the waves and storms of the Great Lakes. The chain is a hand formed textured design, alternating large and small oval links. 

Each pioneer blue gemstone is completely unique, and can only be found in the Leland area of Michigan. Entire piece crafted in sterling silver and made by the good folks of Wexford Jewelers. Design 2025 Sarah J Christenson
