Exquisite opal specimen- this was ethically mined in the Mount Margaret Mine in Queensland, Australia. Boulder opal is comprised of opal material found in ribbons, naturally in ironstone. Mining this unique stone requires a sharp eye to seek out the ribbons of rainbow in the desert rock formations. The stonecutter has to be particularly skilled to showcase the opal material, and there will always be ripples of ironstone featured in each unique piece.
This opal measures 14.8mm x 9.4mm x 3mm and weighs 4.14cts. Setting features a wide tapered band detailed with beadwork. Two champagne diamonds accent the central stone, these weigh a total of 0.08ct.
